About Judy Michael Artist
Judy Frederick Michael was born and grew up near Wilmington, Delaware. Inspired by many artists displaying work in the galleries and museums of Wilmington, Philadelphia and New York City. Michael minored in art throughout school and college; learning and experimenting in many media and gaining knowledge under many instructors. Judy has been a professional artist/painter for over 30 years.
Judy Michael's artwork is displayed in galleries in Delaware, Canada and the Great Northwest of our country, including the state of Montana.
Judy paints the "Good Old West", showing the lifestyle and emotions of the life and time of these brave people. A unique feature of Judy's work is the style of collage she has created and perfected to produce a 3-D effect.
Judy's paintings are in acrylic; she adds oils, pencils, pastels or scratchboard to help express an image. Judy applies layers of acrylic washes on watercolor board or masonite. The images are "built-up" in acrylic wash and great detail may be added.
Judy paints homes and/or businesses from old family photos and memories. Collectors enjoy the paintings as a tangible object of a memory and love of these buildings.
